Tom Stockley

Tom takes trustee appointments with a portfolio of both large and smaller schemes, taking on a wide range of roles including chair and sole trustee appointments.

Background

Tom joined us in 2021 and acts as a professional trustee. His schemes range from asset values over £1bn down to £25m, with sponsors across a range of sectors including retail, construction and not-for-profit. Since joining us, much of Tom’s work has centred around options for well-funded defined benefit (DB) schemes either in the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) or with sponsors on the weaker end of the covenant spectrum.

He previously worked as a lawyer and partner at Gowling WLG working in its corporate and finance group. From that role Tom built up a wide range of experience working with pension scheme trustees and sponsors across investment related matters, corporate transactions and restructurings such as implementing several innovative funding structures and risk management tools.

Tom has a portfolio of large and smaller schemes with a mix of chair, trustee and sole trustee roles. Tom believes that a good relationship and collaboration between scheme sponsors and their pension trustees is critical to achieving outcomes which benefits all stakeholders and above all scheme members.

Tom has a young family and enjoys travelling the world with them. Closer to home he enjoys playing tennis, cricket and golf whilst also being an avid Arsenal supporter.
