Claire Chamberlain

Claire provides expert support to our professional trustees and is also a member of our specialist Pension Protection Fund (PPF) team.

Background

Claire joined us in 2021 and her responsibilities include: supporting our professional trustees with GMPe projects, scheme accounts, secretarial and governance tasks, member communications and investment strategy decisions. She is also involved in managing the transition of insolvent schemes to the PPF.

She began her pensions career in 1997 with NFU Mutual, administering Group Personal Pension Schemes, before moving to Mercer as a pension administrator in 2000, where she worked with both defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) clients. Claire subsequently moved to further pension administration, project and implementation roles for Watson Wyatt, JLT and Buck.

Claire’s previous duties included implementing DB and DC pension portals and new business installations, as well as scheduling, facilitating and monitoring client governance initiatives as the administration lead on several large DC scheme wind ups and DB scheme transition projects. As a Senior Pension Administrator, her role included complex calculations of member benefits and peer-reviewing colleagues’ work for accuracy and compliance with company and AAF procedures.

Outside of work, Claire likes going to the gym, and spending time with her family. She has also racked up a fair few airmiles, having travelled the world – including a 3-month round-the-world trip, as well as a year out visiting Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Bali!
