Louise Webb

Louise joined us in 2021, bringing her practical experience of single, multi-employer and industry-wide defined benefit (DB) and hybrid schemes. She has over 20 years’ experience working both trustee and corporate side in complex funding negotiations, corporate transactions, employer restructurings and distress. Louise’s experience ranges from bespoke scheme governance, policies and procedures; to pension scheme litigation, funding negotiations, regulatory involvement and risk transfer.

As a trustee, Louise is used to navigating quickly evolving, complex situations and has worked with sponsors in most sectors including shipping, leisure, aviation, energy, retail, manufacturing and not for profit. Louise enjoys working collaboratively with sponsor groups (often overseas), making sure they and their advisers are familiar with the UK DB regulatory landscape so corporate activity and valuations can be handled efficiently and effectively.

Before joining Vidett, Louise spent three years as a consultant for the Merchant Navy Officers Pension Fund. The role saw her focusing mainly on employer funding negotiations. Before that, she was a partner at Baker McKenzie where she chaired the EMEA financial restructuring practice. Other roles have seen Louise work as a lawyer in a private practice, and she was also a partner at Baker McKenzie LLP where she chaired the global firm’s EMEA financial restructuring practice.

Away from work, when there’s time between family sport fixtures and walking the dog, Louise loves most things outdoors: cycling, hiking, gardening, skiing etc. As a self-confessed forager and collector, she loves travel – and the challenge of “how to get that home”…!
