Laurie Selby

With an interest in IT starting when Laurie learnt how to build computers from scratch, it has since grown into a career full of learning, interesting experiences and a continued passion for new technologies and innovations in the field.

Laurie’s path to Vidett, began as head of IT at Opus IT, where he managed and developed a team of engineers, as well as being their technical lead. He then served the same title at Communicaid, where the role included supporting, redesigning and continuously improving the company’s IT infrastructure across the UK and Europe. He then went on to become the IT manager for the broadband provider Toob, before more recently leading a similar role at Blue Ocean Seismic Services Limited – where he looked after all aspects of IT, from security, compliance, implementation and administration to desktop and server support.

Outside of IT, Laurie has several other interests including travelling overseas to discover new places, visiting family, and taking his two rescue dogs – Goldie and Bobita – on walks… when they feel like it! He’s also a self-confessed watch collector/repairer, and a loyal devoted Portsmouth FC fan!
