It was a brilliant night at the annual PMI Pinnacle Awards, and an extra special one for everyone at Vidett… as we were the proud recipient of not one, but two awards!

The night started on a high, with our first win for the ‘Innovation in Trusteeship’ award. This was in recognition of our fiduciary management work as trustee for a leading national charity’s pension scheme, working alongside the Society Investment Committee representing their endowment fund. Our work helped the scheme and fund work better together to improve the efficiencies of their investment strategies and make significant cost savings, which neither portfolio would have achieved separately. It also helped the charity both allow themselves and their scheme to implement their sustainability beliefs more effectively… a great outcome for all involved.

Our second win of the evening was for our governance team, who won ‘Team of the Year’. The team which consists of five main areas, have overcome various obstacles; embracing technology, sharing knowledge and demonstrating how best to work together to deliver a great service to our clients. As a result, our governance team has become a leading industry voice, evidenced by the recognition of our work around equity, diversity & inclusion for pension schemes, the team’s contribution towards Vidett being listed as a ‘Great Place to Work’ and how quickly we could support our clients when The Pension Regulator’s General Code was published.

On the ‘Team of the Year’ win, head of governance, Claire Barnes commented: “Last night was an evening I’ll never forget. I know how special our governance team are and how we all support each other to deliver a great service to our clients. Being recognised as team of the year at the PMI Pinnacle awards is just the icing on the cake!”

Chief executive Wayne Phelan was also delighted with the news: “This is a fantastic result for everyone at Vidett. It’s so lovely to see the external recognition coming through. As we move into 2025 we have a great opportunity to build on the fantastic business we have built together. We were up against some strong and wide competition, but I am very proud of what we have achieved.”
