Simi Uppal

Simi joined us in 2022 as part of our two-year graduate programme. She has been provided with exposure to a wide range of areas including the role of a scheme secretary, investments and actuarial valuations. This has allowed her to build her pensions knowledge and develop in her role.

Starting with four main clients to get a rounded view of the work we do, Simi concentrated on learning the ropes and understanding how pension schemes operate. Since then, she has been introduced to another new scheme, helping the governance team by dealing with member related queries, discretion cases, updating scheme governance documents and action logs, writing minutes, collating online meeting packs and providing secretarial support.

Simi is also involved in the internal training service line where she provides feedback to the team to help improve the training for her and her colleagues. She has also taken part in careers fairs to try to encourage others to get involved in the industry.

Outside of work, Simi has competed in national cheerleading competitions and achieved multiple medals in 100m sprints in athletics.
