Shaun joined us as a professional trustee in February 2024, bringing over 25 years’ broad pensions experience in trustee support, corporate facing and consulting roles. His recent focus has been on journey planning, de-risking and helping schemes progress towards their long-term strategic goals.

Background

Shaun acts as a trustee for schemes ranging in size from £1m to £1bn spanning sole trustee, co-trustee and chair appointments. He is also a member of our Endgame Solutions team, and works on Vidett’s Group Life and Excepted Life Master Trusts.

Prior to joining us at Vidett, Shaun’s roles included working as an in-house pensions specialist at Alliance & Leicester plc, and within the pension consultancy groups of two of the big four accountancy practices.

More recently, Shaun worked at Smiths Group plc, the FTSE 100 engineering group. With over 17 years at the company, he joined as a trustee support manager, before taking on the head of pensions role with responsibility for the Group’s strategy in respect of its defined benefit pension schemes. During his time with Smiths, Shaun was involved in numerous buy-in transactions relating to the Group’s pension arrangements. This included seven buy-in policies undertaken by the TI Group Pension Scheme between 2008 and 2022; resulting in all of the Scheme’s liabilities being successfully insured.

Outside of work Shaun likes to spend time with his family and on his allotment and is a Leicester City season ticket holder.
