Lisa first stepped into the pensions industry in 2003 when she joined DWP as an administrative officer, working on Pension Credit claims and assessments. She later moved into pensions administration and spent 12 years working as a senior administrator for the Civil Service Pension Scheme. This involved calculating member benefits, dealing with complex cases and complaints, as well as running induction courses and training for new members of the team.
In 2019 Lisa made the switch to consulting and joined JLT, which would later become part of Mercer. Her key duties here were to provide support to client managers and scheme actuaries, providing scheme secretarial services, drafting governance documents and member communications and acting as a point of contact for trustees and advisers. Working alongside trustee boards and gaining insight into scheme funding was a big change and one that Lisa continues to enjoy.
Lisa loves animals and helps at a local cat rescue, as well as looking after her own three cats. Her spare time is mainly spent trying to keep fit; she will drag herself to 10k running events on a regular basis, as well as throwing some moves at Zumba and aerobics – all of which help to offset her fondness for eating out!
