With a career originally starting in a volunteering position for a youth charity, Jacob went on to be their fixed-term director at the age of 22. It’s here he was responsible for the charity’s annual budget, as well as organising education and residential activities for its 1,000+ members aged 7-24. The role also saw him involved in their project and logistics management, culminating in six simultaneous summer camps across Europe.
Jacob’s next position saw him helping grow a London restaurant group from two to seven locations. Later he joined Capita as an operations manager in local government environmental health, trading standards and licensing. Here hecoordinated a 75+ person team, whilst implementing new ways of working and IT transformation.
From 2022 Jacob worked in pensions consulting at Capita, with highlights including him project managing the restructure of 130+ small/medium pension administration schemes and working within their digital transformation project team to roll out a new online portal for members. He also worked across their GMP teams managing and redesigning new internal processes, lead projects on the UK’s third largest Pension Fund, and also set up new MI reporting tools to provide greater insight into their clients.
Outside of work, Jacob plays Rugby and Squash on a regular basis and can be found giving most sports a try (until his body – particularly his knees – give up). He’s also the family chef, with a particular penchant for fermenting and pickling their own homegrown vegetables!
