The PLSA South East spring seminar: understanding the general code

Client directors Simon Lewis and Kevin Clark will be joining the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) South East group for their spring seminar, where they’ll be casting a closer look at one of our industry’s hottest topics: the general code.

During the 90m session, the group will explore the requirements following the long-awaited publication of the general code, as pension scheme trustees and governing bodies will now need to establish an Effective System of Governance, and for schemes with more than 100 members, undertake an Own Risk Assessment.

  • Taking place on Thursday 7th March, Linklaters’ offices (One Silk Street, London EC2Y 8HQ) will be playing hosts for the first part of the event from 4pm to 5.30pm, where Kevin will chair, and Simon will deliver a training session on the general code, alongside Susan Hoare (Partner, Aon) followed by a Q&A session immediately after
  • The event will then move over to Farringdon’s Vinoteca restaurant, just a short walk from Linklaters’ offices, where networking opportunities will be afforded, including an expert-led wine tasting of six international grapes, complemented by an array of snacks and nibbles taking us from 6pm into the early evening (8.30pm).

Looking ahead to the session, Simon commented “I’m looking forward to discussing how the general code can be used as a key governance tool for continuous improvement to trustee effectiveness and performance no matter what position schemes are in.”

Spaces are limited, with tickets starting from just £35 per person for PLSA members, and £55 for non-members (that will give them membership to the south east group until 30th September 2024).
