Earlier this month, client director Mike Birch was invited to guest on Isio’s latest webinar, alongside Matt Cooper (Head of Covenant Solutions, Isio) and Jill Forsyth (Covenant Specialist, Isio).

During the 25m episode, the three discuss defined benefit (DB) pension schemes, as they look to better understand what The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) updated covenant guidance will mean in practice.

On the subject, Mike said: “TPR’s new covenant guidance gives a very helpful framework which codifies existing best practice. By necessity it is detailed but the key for trustees is to use it to build a practical, commercial understanding of their employer’s trading strengths and resultant cash flows and to use that to agree a constructive approach to funding.”
