A smooth landing to wind-up

This case study explores the way we supported our client Air Canada to negotiate a buy-in to buy-out and the various challenges we encountered to soar above and ultimately land the scheme into a smooth wind-up.

Reflecting on the journey, James Duggan was happy with the result:

“It was a real pleasure to lead the Vidett team through this challenging project. When we completed our buy-in back in 2021 we were in largely unchartered territiory with the luxury of a surplus, however, as we progressed towards the buy-out and wind-up of the scheme it was clear that managing a surplus was operationally more challenging than not having one. This case study explores some of the obstacles we faced and the creative solutions we were able to implement to ensure that we concluded the wind-up with a first class experience for all involved.”
